Low health heart beat

Post » Sat Oct 01, 2011 3:41 am

Ok so fallout 3 pretty much made an underrated leap as far as immersion. If your health dropped to a certain point the screen didnt become blurry, red, or bloody like most games today. You could actually hear your heart beating as an indication of being severely hurt. So the reason why this feature was important is that finally I could play a game without the hud without worrying about what my health level is.

So has anybody noticed that this is in fact in Skyrim? Thanks.

I haven't heard or read any confirmations on this and didn't notice it in any of the many user recorded videos from PAX, E3, TGS, etc...

Last game I played that had this was Rift. It was amazingly well done, even for an RPG.

I sincerely hope it's not in, because it's annoying as hell.

Blood all over the screen is annoying and unrealistic

Blood on the screen + heartbeat would be modded out so fast by me if they added it. That doesn't belong in ANY game, especially not in Skyrim. Blood on screen = makes it feel like you're a camera, not a person.

Agreed. Heartbearts, bloody screens, and anything that impairs my vision and hearing when I'm about to die, which is when I need those "senses' the most is incredibly annoying.

I'm honestly surprised bloody screens even still exist. They have been around since Doom (maybe before?) and were irritating back then!

So what would you prefer if there was absolutely no hud?

Annoying for some, but if you play HUDless (POIs, errrch), then a helpful touch.
