Skills/Attributes ''+100''

Post » Sun Oct 02, 2011 5:10 am

Yes, I know that there are no attributes in Skyrim.
I just mentioned them in case there is similar issue with with their replacement.

Anyway, in Oblivion, most skills and attributes would have no increased effect if you buff them somehow over 100.
I always found that strange since maxing out a skill and then using an item in order to improve it even more never gave any benefit.
It also made lot of items nearly useless (Black Hand robes for example).

I really hope they fix this so we can continue to benefit from skills and attribute replacements when we max them out and then decide to buff them some more with magic/item/something.

Has it even be confirmed to be any skill boosting effects in the game?

It it has, then increasing them over 100 should indeed matter in some way.

They confirmed that attributes can increase past 100 through items. I'll spend some time looking for it.

And skills past 100 in Oblivion and Morrowind both gave a bonus. For instance, if you have 100 destruction and then buffed it through gear to 130, your spells would cost less.

Edit: You know what? I think you're right. There were hardly any skills that did anything above 100. I was using a mod that allowed skills to go above 100 that also made it harder the higher you got.

yeah. that was the most annoying part of oblivion. I could take everything to 100 and make a bunch of items and spells useless because the caps were too hard.

Yeah, basically almost every fortify skill and many enchants. I hope they change that this time around.

I remember using the highest sigil stones on six different pieces of gear that all gave +blunt skill and being disappointed when I ran tests and saw it did nothing =(

In Daggerfall if you got a skill over 100 it made any spell you made cost 5mana points. Very OP. I think in Morrowind if you got a skill over 100 you could train that skill at a master trainer indefinitely or something.
