Light/Heavy armour

"Heavy armor weighs nothing and doesn't slow you down " - one of its supposed perks.

What would be the point in light armour?

Since we don't know Light Armor perks yet, it's hard to give a lot of reasons.

But even without knowing the other perks, we know that stealth-based characters will still want to go light armor.

Oh that pretty much sums it up: people choose light armour if their going for a stealthy play-style; being able to move fast while still having some sort of protection. That's always the advantage of light armour over heavy. But with that perk, it kind of makes light armour redundant lopl

I think the perk is going to be the master level perk, and it just won't affect encumberance, like in Oblivion. Not eliminate all speed penalties completely.

stealth. you probably still suffer a penalty while sneaking with heavy armor on.

Just a gable here, but i suppose light armor will have some perks that increase their speed or their sneaking skills. Perhaps a perk might exist that makes you lose less stamina each time you swing your weapon.

Personally i'll just use whatever armor set that has the coolest visuals, it's a singleplayer game so i don't really care if my character has the best skills/perks it just has to be fun to play with.

It's probably similar to OB where heavy armor didn't affect your speed.

Roleplaying?

My character isn't going to wear any armour at all, just fancy clothing and not even enchanted at that, because it suits her. Or someone else may play a character whose personality or occupation wouldn't go well with heavy armour, or may just find heavy armour ugly and wear light instead.
