During the game, there's a skirmish with raiders that takes place at the outer gates of Megaton. No matter how many times I've tried, I've not been able to prevent Deputy Weld from being destroyed. Is it possible to save him...? :facepalm:

When is the skirmish? Is it like the first time you go to Megaton? And if it's the one im thinking of then you should be able to save him unless something odd happened to him before hand that weakened him.
