Anyone getting into shape before Skyrim?

Post » Sun Oct 02, 2011 7:39 am

I was wondering if anyone else is trying to get into shape to pass time until Skyrim comes out. Let's be honest, none of us will be healthy after its released. I'm also getting in shape for the British Army which I'm going to (try) to join next year (around February).

Post your preferred workouts and how often you do it.

Also, does anyone have any good fitness regimes to do pre-military? I'm underweight so I need to bulk up a bit.

Off and on. Some days I am lazy but when I am bored I just go outside and do things. Sometimes I just go for walks. Already lost 5 pounds too :D

Ehhhhh. Video games don't make people fat, people do, Imma eat all my fruits and veggies during my time with SK.
Even THAT will keep me skinny. But I still have to lose my beer belly though. :stare:

I'm at the gym five days a week for about 40 minutes per day. Wind sprints afterwards, and a nice big meal when I get home.

When Skyrim comes out, I don't plan on changing my routine at all, since it will be a much needed break from it in order to keep it fresh in my head. You need those breaks to come up with thoughts on what you want to do next, otherwise you burn the game out much quicker.

I'm not trying to get into shape, but I've been jogging and exercising more often to pass the time. Maybe a part of me desires to be like my Dovahkiin, built and posses the ability to make my shouts send a guy half way across the country.

And don't really have any regimes, just in the mornings I...
  • Wake up at 6
  • Warm up
  • Go jogging around my park for half-an-hour
  • Return home (walking)
  • Get my upper-body ready and do some sit ups, push ups, and life some weights
  • Warm down and perform the stretches so I don't rip a ligament
  • Hit the shower or bath to relax the muscles.

I mean, I could be doing it all wrong and risk popping a tendon and breaking my leg while out on a job, but that's my routine, nice and simple. I'm not trying to bulk up or the likes, just staying healthy. So I doubt I'll be much help, but no doubt they'll be someone from the military here that'll have a better regime for you.

Eh, I can throw you a PM or something if you want, but this really isn't the place to post this kinda thing man.

Sorry.

P.S. You don't need to go to the gym to get muscle mass or wake up at 6 am, no matter what anyone tells you.

I go to the gym quite a bit as is. I mostly lift weights, one day focus on chest/should/back, next day biceps/triceps etc. I am trying to rebuild my wind a bit, I used to run long distance but I haven't really even jogged for 10-15 years now. So I am turning my Tuesday/Thursday gym days into jogging days.My goal is to get back to where 5 miles a day is comfortable and then I will jog to the gym(5.1 miles), workout, then walk/jog back. While I am in decent shape I would like to lose another 5-10% body fat. I don't see Skyrim impacting on this in any way, I like going to the gym so it isn't like it is a chore that I am easily distracted from.
