As a PC gamer, I will not buy this game unless...

Yes, I agree.

But have you noticed that Bethesda's main fans are mostly all PC gamers? Least they are in this forum. So, in a SMALL way I feel us hard core fans are sorta neglected.(In a SMALL way) :sadvaultboy:

Ehhhhh Bethesda's oldest fans are certainly PC gamers (I remember building my first PC for Morrowind! :D ), that is is true but I doubt Bethesda will disappoint with Skyrim. There's still 6 weeks until it even comes out.

What do you mean when you say "hard coded"? Isn't the Construction Set/Creation Kit the exact same software used by Bethesda to produce the game? If they are telling the truth about that, than the only thing preventing anyone from creating a new UI is their skill.

No. Many settings, and everything to due with the UI is hardcoded into the encrypted executable (using Oblivion as a reference). OBSE has exposed some of that to mods over the years, but the UI is still largely unmodifiable beyond the cosmetic.

Wrong. Oblivion and Fallout 3 both use XML documents to script the UI and mods such as Darninfied UI are all about completely changing it. Is Skyrim still XML based?

Ah... I see. Such a shame.
