Next Gen Elder Scrolls?

Post » Sun Oct 02, 2011 7:57 pm

Thought this was an interesting video, would you like to see the next gen Elder Scrolls game on par with this level of graphics? (Minus the insanely wobbly camera, and guns)

We don't know for sure what the pc version maxed will look like. But with mods, skyrim will look like that ;)

I liked the underwater, hopefully the next Elder Scrolls will be like that. Honestly, though, I don't think the graphics are that much better than Skyrim's. Anyone who manages to fret over this comparison is seriously nitpicking. Cloth and hair physics are a different story, in which Skyrim is completely lacking. Not good, in my opinion. Hopefully that will also get looked at in the next gen Elder Scrolls after Skyrim.

Hopefully "Next Gen" isn't 720p like this video. 1080p minimum... :)

Edit: And this video wasn't even made with a High End PC...Intel Core I3 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU...

Well the Creation Engine is just really a revamped Gamebryo engine so I can already draw the imaginary line at how the game will look on maxed pc settings, but I have no doubt in my mind that the modding community can cook up something similar to this, after all, that video is the result of a dedicated community of a game that came out in 2008; cant wait to see what they can do with this technology.

Modded Crysis is a sight to behold. I was also blown away by Metro 2033 @ max DX11. Holy [censored].

But you can't expect TES to look anywhere near like that. Even the next one.

Now that I take a closer look at the video one thing that stands out to me that I have always wanted in a TES game is bobbing and motion blur, again, nothing some mods cant fix, but Im a console player(Can barely pay my bills let alone buy a high end gaming rig xD) and as you can see, it makes a huge difference. I pulled up some E3 demos and compared: The graphics are almost the same, but the fact that the first person view is very...stiff and rigid and movement is based on the terrain bumping and it feels like a fly camera rather than an actual person, it just feels like that aspect couldve been improved. Not saying that the game wont be amazing whether or not the view ever changes, but thats one factor thats always bugged me since Morrowind.
