Windows pc (the general pc sysem) and Xbox 360 are both by Microsoft so then why would one get the dlc's or more attention or what ever if their more or less the same company? only a minority might play on mac of lynix

Because Microsoft only makes a cut of the profits for 360 sales. They have nothing to do with the gaming side of a PC.

Windows is just a program. so thats why the PC doesnt get dlc at the same time as the 360.

Yes... PC is not a Microsoft product. They make windows(the OPERATING SYSTEM), not all the hardware/software.

edit: Also, good luck getting Skyrim to play on Macs or on a linux OS anybody. :icecream:

First, Microsoft makes windows an operating system for pcs. Despite what Mac commercials claim, they in now way own the concept of personal computers.
Second, Microsoft has gone through a lot trying to get people to view the Xbox as a gaming specific machine and not as a pc, look up why Xbox doesn't support keyboard and mouse despite the fact that it would be easy to program in.

If Microsoft can get dlc to be Xbox exclusive, sales of Xbox due to people who want to play Skyrim and its dlc first are more likely to purchase an Xbox which gets Microsoft money where as somebody buying a pc gets a pc building corporation money with Microsoft maybe making money if they get Windows as the OS.

edit: ps: Linux has wine which is usually up and running with everything you need to run a newly released game within 2 weeks.

MS should start making hardware and pushing gaming rigs. They could even make them look like XBoxes and have built in 360 wireless receivers/whatnot. I'm sure their incentive to have the timed DLC exclusivity deal is to increase the likelihood of people buying the only hardware they do sell, XBox 360s...

My mac will play Skyrim just fine with its Windows partition. Any modern mac (hardware) can pull that off, but there's still a distinct possibility Skyrim will eventually come out for mac's OS as it's been said they'll consider releasing it for anything that can run it.

I'm pretty sure they just meant that for the wiiU... wii-U... wii U... whatever
Mac's have always been historically crapped on in game releases for a laundry list of reasons.

We'll see... Dragon Age made it to mac, as has Steam. Many Mac owners with capable hardware don't want Windows and shouldn't have to get it just for gaming, not to mention maintaining multiple operating systems can be ...cumbersome (all my rigs have multiple personalities). Here's hoping Beth eventually ports to Mac and WiiU as they'd tap into brand new markets in both cases. Many are just as crazy religious about their Nintendos and Macs as others are about their Sony, MS, or PC platform. Nintendo and Mac are much more likely, it would seem, to be mod friendly. I'm just happy to be getting it for PC, but if WiiU allowed mods, I might just buy Skyrim twice as I know I'll want a WiiU for the imminent Metroid. Anyhow, even if future games were to come out on all five platforms, I'd bet there would still be timed exclusivity deals sold to the highest bidder.

For every game sold on the Xbox360 Microsoft gets ~10$ as a royalty fee, for every game sold on the PC Microsoft gets 0$.
That's why it makes sense, that Microsoft wants you to buy the Xbox360 Version and couldn't care less about the PC Version.
