Tortiseshell glasses : Fallout: New Vegas

So I was just looking at the wiki and it says:

Philip Lem used to be the only person in the game with tortiseshell glass, but they were removed and replaced with regular sunglasses in patch 1.06.

Why the hell would they do that? I wanted those! They weren't hurting anything. Now I'll never get the ultra-rare pair of cool hipster shades.

Because Obsidian wanted to hide the fact they messed up, see, if you got the glasses, and then dropped them in the world, someone derped and didnt put the texture for it's world object on it, so instead of actually fixing it, they just covered up that it was ever there.
