I've Discovered the main problem with Crysis 2.

We all know too well that Crysis 2 has connection issues ( and then some ) but i've actually made a discovery that I havn't noticed after all the thousands of hours I've put into crysis 2 until I started sniping.

It's not the lag it's the Aim Assist.

Between the Demo and the Final game they modified the aim assist by cranking it up ( my main beef with the final game ) and not only did they crank it up, they also Ruined the aim assist.

It shouldn't really be called Aim "assist" because it does NOT "assist" your aim in the way you expect.

Let me explain :).

The perfect example is when you are shooting a guy who is running to the side, you are shooting him but your bullet aren't registering, its only when he stops sprinting when it becomes easier.

It's lag right? your shooting where he was rather than where he actually is right?... wrong.

It's the aim assistance, the connection is fine so as long as you have 2 - 3 bars.

Ever wondered why sniping svcks so much balls?

It's because the game lags right?.. no. It's because of the aim "assist".

What the aim assist does is that when you are shooting at a moving target ( Not moving directly towards or away from you but side to side ). The aim assist actually pulls your aim slightly behind your enemy, not on your enemy.

Try it, try using the gauss, or the DSG-1 with aim assist, then try it without. I noticed an incredible difference and I was even Quickscoping successfully with the gauss, at close range, against assault rifle guys O_O.

If this is the case (which it is ), then the aim assist is surely something that can be fixed ( Although I doubt it will now that C2 is virtually dead online ) all they have to do is put it back to the demo's aim assist and C2 will be alot less annoying :).

Trust me, i'm know i'm right on this one.

Go try it out for yourselves, This applys to all weapons, yes it will require abit more focus to aim but you will notice that the connection is fine its just the **** up aim assist.

yeap, totally noticed that but i think it's ok, if you are good enough you can play without aim assist and problem solved... there are bigger problems to fix.

Hello,

With all do respect, you are wrong. I have 7K kills sniping in Crysis 2, and PureEnimTalis has a great deal too. We would disagree that it "svcks balls." He plays with aim assist off and I play with it on. The assist has actually helped me to get kills on people at very close range ala quik scope style and even at greater distances when targets are running. The reason why sniping svcks balls to many people on crysis xbox is because its played like a secondary class. You must make sweet love to the DSG-1 if you want it to do your bidding. Not this BS about "hey let me try to snipe now, and see what it's like." Snipe first and SnipeFTW. Don't cry about aim assist making sniping hard, when that's not true. Trust me the foremost expert on sniping in Crysis 2 [in the Western Hemisphere], and not your rudimentary anolysis of lag vs aim assist. The lag is a big issue for many people on Crysis 2 xbox, and I've seen how it can can improve sniping when I'm host, especially hitting running targets. You sound like someone who doesn't know their knees from their elbows. Send Mike NFCT a friend request, and I'll show you some sniping with AIM ASSIST on.

The main reasons why sniping svcks balls to most experimenters (and it's not Aim Assist):

1) You're merely experimenting (the DSG-1 is your rifle there are many like her but she is your own-treat her like she's #1)

2) The game makes seeing invisible targets too hard, it's very unbalanced, and only tagging enemies makes hitting invisible targets easy.

3) The rate of fire has been Nerfed, while the speed of super-soldiers toting nano-suits with mobility and stealth enhance III has not decreased. This game is fast. The bullets can be slow, the ROF can be slower, especially with Guass

4) Did you say you snipe with Gauss. Bahahahahha. Ok buddy, come play me or any good players with that quick scope Gauss and see your KD plummet to all-time lows.

Have a good day!

I wouldn't even consider aim assist the main problem. That's minor. Aim Assist is there even with it turned off. Thats just how it is.
