Skyrim Argonians = Frankenstein

Post » Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:10 am

Feathers = Arena Argonian
Mouth = Daggerfall Argonian
Darker Colors = Redguard Argonian
Eyes/Horns = Morrowind Argonian
Nose = Oblivion Argonian

They put all those together and created the Skyrim Argonian.

And it is relevant how?

Yes they are playing with argonian looks, since argonians are fictional creatures, and we can't simply take photo of argonian and create 3D model based on it
In one or two games argonians will get distinct look
Also, who said there are no different subspecies/tribes/nations of argonians who may look slightly different?

It's called an observation.

I just hope they don't make some weird lore explanation why they look different.

How having different subspecies, tribes or nations a weird lore
At least that is how I explained for my self why every TES game have different argonian look
So if something similar would become as official lore, it would be ok for me

I think there is. It has something to do with the Hist tree.

Bah and Here I thought you had proof of Argonians were Reanimating the dead using SCIENCE!

Frankenstein was the Doctor, not the Monster.

There's been an explanation since Morrowind. The amount of Hist sap that an Argonian ingests as a hatchling affects their physical appearance. Argonians range from completely lizard-like to almost human.

I think there is. It has something to do with the Hist tree.

Exactly. :biggrin:

Why would they have to explain that in lore?

The expand upon and upgrade (in most cases) the looks of every race in every new game. They look different now because the fans asked them to make them look different.

Also he reanimated people by electricity
So basically using primitive defibrillator
That's what medics do all over the world

P.S. Argonians and science? Don't make me lough.
P.P.S. :rofl: (Too late)

There are. There are different "Tribes" of Argonians that have distinct looks. From UESP: "Argonians usually live in tribes, each having their own customs as well as differing appearances. There are a few known tribes:

Agacephs: Most have needle-like faces and vary in color from bright green to orange. They live in the inner part of Argonia, near the Hist.
Archeins: During the time when other races tried to put plantations in Argonia, Archeins were very powerful. They made most of their money by selling other Argonians into slavery. Since the other races realized Argonia is unfit for plantations, they have gone bankrupt.
Paatru: Described as "toad-like," they live in the inner part of Argonia.
Sarpa: Described as being "winged", though it's unclear if this is meant literally or not. They live in the interior of Argonia.
Nagas: They are described as having "huge mouths filled with dripping needle-like fangs". They are usually seven to eight feet tall. They also appear to be more snake-like than other Argonians. When the other races were attempting to put plantations into Argonia, they generally acted as highway men, robbing passing caravans; however, since the other races ceased trying to put plantations in Argonia, they have left the roads and have gone back into the inner swamps."
I want to play as a Sarpa :D.

I really like the new look. As someone said. they've taken the best bits. Might be the first time I consider playing as one.

And I'm guessing we won't be able to say how much Hist sap our character was exposed to. Would be cool if we could though.

I thought it was because the developers keep deciding to change the look.

That would be the real reason. Not the lore reason.

Never read UESP page about argonians
It looks like useless usage of perfectly fine internet space to write about boot material :evil:
Also archeins sound like a-holes
