My thoughts on the main quest

Post » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:08 am

In chronological order. (

A dragon attacks Helgen, where our execution is taking place (from Tokyo Game Show)

We escape with that Blade dude who tells us to talk to Alvor in Riverwood.

As we enter Riverwood a nutty woman says she just saw a dragon.

Alvor tells us to retrieve the Golden Claw, a family heirloom, a certain thief named Something the Swift stole. Last seen he was headed to Bleak Falls Barrow.

While going there we encounter the dragon the nutty woman was talking about and seen in the demo.

We rush into Bleak Barrow because we cannot defeat him. Level 1, remember.

We go in and retrieve the Golden Claw come out the other side and encounter the same dragon. We can try to defeat him with the help of those guards and giants in the demo or make a dash for Whiterun, where I assume a relative of Alvors is waiting for the Golden Claw. There we realize that dragons are back because of the recent lockdown.

All this info is from leaked gameplay, the actual demo or fragments of hands ons.

Thoughts?

This isn't new, and the Golden Claw quest isn't the MQ at all; It's a side quest.

You is almost right. I just don't think that the Golden Claw is directly involved in the Main Quest.

The only part of the MQ we know for sure is that Esbern, the last of the Blades, saves us from our execution. We also know that we will find out we are Dragonborn in an event that involves a dragon, straight from the mouth of Todd.

And we climb the 7000 steps of High Whatever and meet the Greybeards. And Alduin is the final boss of course. It's unclear whether we actually kill him (highly doubtful) or stop him from eating the world, which says in the lore.

Other than that, we don't know anything else.

I may be wrong here but doesn't Bleak Falls Barrow actually go through a mountain to a plains environment with Whiterun in the distance? Aldo you learn probably your first Dragon word there, I think that the Golden Claw and Bleak Falls Barrow are all related to the MQ.

You can get to Whiterun without going through Bleak Falls Barrow.

Why would Bethesda spoil their main quest? They never did so for OB/MW. The Golden Claw is a side quest, Betheada chosed to Demo in that area because it shows a lot of the gameplay aspects.

Actually from leaked videos we can see that During the execution of Dragonborn, Helgen is attacked and destroyed by a dragon that will eventually fly off over Riverwood to Bleak Falls Barrow as part of the main quest.

Hm, I suppose I missed that leaked footage.

Either way, I don't think Bethesda would spoil the MQ for us. But you have a point.

Yea in some Tokyo Game Show leaked footage in dialogue with Alvor, we can say that Helgen was attacked and destroyed by a dragon.

We th

Alvor tells us to go see the Jarl of Whiterun. We get the heirloom quest from the barkeeper. So this particular theory is wrong.
