Who has spent a lot to upgrade for Skyrim ?

Post » Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:30 am

As my current pc is 6 years old and has not been able to play any new pc games for years I have bought a new rig for Skyrim. I decided to get a gaming laptop for the convenience of being able to play in different rooms, with friends etc (plus the added bonus of being able to take it with me to my sister's house at Christmas so I can sneak away to play Skyrim and avoid the inevitable after Christmas dinner family arguements).

Now, to afford this new kit (yep I went for the insane Alienware m18x - great laptop but mega expensive) I have had to sell one of my children to a white slave trader and the other for medical research. Some people might think that a little over the top but hey - it's SKYRIM !!!!

Has anyone else had to make the same sort of sacrifice to play the game ? (I do have an xbox but really want the best graphics possible for this one).

Oh my, a brag topic :celebration:

Planning to upgrade my PC
And by "upgrade" I mean that only case will stay the same- motherboard, CPU, RAM, GPU, power supply unit, SSD+HDD, even cooler will be replaced by more powerful model :D

I guess you could say my laptop is pretty new, but you should have went with a Sage 7200 over the Alienware M18x. IMO you could have saved a ton of money and gotten a better laptop.

I will dust my PS3 and clean my controllers. I would love a new HDTV, but that isn't happening right now. PC gaming costs way to much, which is why I switched to consoles a while ago. I do play some games on my Mac though, like Angry Birds and Total War.
