I am having the Strafe / loss of control bug described in the "Unofficial technical FAQ for PCs" chap 4.10 Only thing is I don't have nor ever have had a joystick and iv used the fix:

bUseJoystick=0

I am running on Ubuntu through Wine. Though I made it 40 hours in with no problem. I cant tell you what has changed on the system as I stopped playing the game for a few months, and have recently come back, but now with the bug. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a joystick/360 pad, unplug it.

I spent over a week trying to figure out why I kept sidestepping... :facepalm:
