Same here Balrog. And I didn't expect you to, only trying to point out that the event I was referring to hasn't been spoiled for you yet.

I'd probably play Ser Barriston the Badass. Definitely the coolest character in the series (though not my favorite).

Barristan > all
Specially at the sixth book

Probably the only good hero archetype character that wont get killed so soon/without a fight
Jon snow maybe, only if that had not happened at the end... (hint:
Spoiler
It involve daggers

OH and by the way
If you play Robb Stark stay away from rivers and be single for the rest of your life ok?

I agree that he's the coolest in the series, with maybe Jaime following at a close second. I'd have to say going off the lore alone though Selmy is the most skilled/dangerous warrior in Westeros.

Jon Snow definitely is one of the coolest characters, same with Stannis Baratheon.

Stannis is just such an ass, but not in a bad way. At the end of Robert's Rebellion, Stannis was being under siege by Mace Tyrell and Paxter Redwyne. It lasted like a year or something, until Ned Stark came down and lifted it. Stannis was able to survive because Davos smuggled onions in past the blockage. After the war was said and done, Stannis knighted Davos for saving the day, but cut off his fingers for smuggling.

WTF? How cool is that?

Then the whole "I HAVE to be king" mentality is pretty cool. One of my favorite quotes in the series is: "Kings have no friends, only subjects and enemies."

What a stern badass. Those who haven't read the books are in for a treat when he's introduced in the series.

Barristan is likable because he's the only good guy who succeeds, really. Not the deadliest fighter, though. I feel like any of Aerys' kingsguard would hold their own or best them, primarily Gerold Hightower or Arthur Dayne. And if you only mean living characters, then there's still the Mountain...

If I were to RP one, it would be Jon Snow. By the way, it is a fantastic series, and HBO is doing a great job so far with the show.

the Mountain: heavy armour, 2h weapon

I would love to play Gregor Clegane but I doubt he'd transfer over to a video game that well: http://i56.tinypic.com/33ljr5k.jpg

imperial most likely

You kidding? He'd have to be a Nord. That man is massive. That's why they call him "The Mountain". :P

I never play as guys but I think a grown up(late-teen at least) Arya Stark would be fun. If I was to play as a guy i would have to say Jon Snow.

Eddard Stark was NOT a coward. he falsely confessed to save his daughter. thats not cowardice, thats bravery of the highest calibre.

the dwarf tyrion lannister is not a jerk. hes probably my favourite character in the whole series (bar Arya Stark) his wit, humour and general awesomeness is just badass :D

Exactly, and Tyrion is probably one of the most honest of all the characters.

john snow, the only honorable one of the lot.
his only offense is giving a 10 year old a weapon :D
and its hard for me to rp a character from a series thats so...tame. i understand its low fantasy like elder scrolls. but at least tes has some real tangible magical elements and its threats are far more real as well.

anyway, to play a character LIKE john snow is always my ambition, because were alot alike...the bastard part at least :)
Spoiler
I really hope Jon doesn't actually die in the part where is betrayed.

Agreed. I've come to really like Stannis and started to root for him after Clash. I like Barristan too, and I'm starting to warm up to Jamie somewhat. Tyrion's been cool the whole time of course. I've learned to not expect the idealistic characters that I'd normally pull for to last very long though :P. I still hope Davos remains ok, part of his chapters in the previous book
Spoiler
When he thought he was going to die and was writing to his kids
got me pretty emotional.
