One time dungeons?

I didn't want to make a whole new thread for my question so I bumped a thread after searching for 'dungeons' but no-one replied so I made this...

Thankfully, because Skyrim is such a large location, Bethesda has rather neatly added “Cleared” tags to all locations you’ve visited in Skyrim that you’ve completely rinsed, something that also allows you to see whether you’ve got all that you really need from said location. After realising that the words of Diana Ross didn’t ring true here and this mountain was definitely high enough – well, too steep to ascend from this point anyway – we descended back down from where we had come and found ourselves at the base of the mountain by a stone archway with ice-covered steps leading up to another cave entrance.

Does that mean that once you go through a dungeon kill and loot everything and then leave, let time pass in game, and then go back in there won't be anything to do there as far as enemies to kill and loot/treasure to find? That would svck because part of what I like about these games is going back in and through dungeons to try and get different or better loot and sorta farm XP via combat.

I don't see how there would be different loot in the dungeon, unless you came back like a year later in game. The most that would inhabit a place would be the wildlife, and I guarantee that they won't be carrying any loot.

Edit: When I said coming back a year later, I meant that in a year I suppose bandits would have taken up residence.

ohh that cool that they added a cleared tag for the dungeons.. There were so many rimes I returned to a dungeon in oblivion without realizing I alredy did it. But I also hope that monsters will eventually respawn. Thats why u try and make sure u loot all treasure first time around so you dont need to kill all the monsters again to get like one treasure.

I mean like treasure chests or what bandits/goblins drop? That sorta stuff.

Basically once you go through a dungeon there's no point in going back through it a few days later (in game time) because there will be no more enemies since you killed them all and any lootable things will be empty?

The dungeons will repopulate with the same level creature at which they locked when you entered.

What are "these" sort of games? Elder Scrolls games? Neither in Morrowind nor in Oblivion was there any point to revisit a dungeon. You are the only person who finds this an issue.

My Ranger's home will be a cave... so I'm sorta hoping that they be sorta empty after I kill it out.

Someone tweeted Pete about this a while back. The cleared tag is only to show that you've been through the dungeon before. It doesn't keep it from respawning. This is verified by a discussion before about how dungeons lock to your level the first time you go through them. This feature would be obsolete if dungeons didn't reset.

I already knew these dungeons/caves locked at the level you first entered them. I like that. That way at least the whole game doesn't scale to your level like in Oblivion and you never got a sense of becoming any more powerful.

So they must repopulate with enemies and those enemies should be lootable right? But probably not the lootable chests and the such... those are probably one time lootable items.

I somehow doubt I am the only person that thinks this. Plus I never really said it was an "issue" just that I would prefer to be able to go back into them after a certain amount of time. If it was a one time thing I wouldn't complain or not want to play the game any less. I would just be disappointed a little and by these games i meant fantasy free roam RPG's and such.

That's just a guess. There's no indication that they're not sticking with the system they had with Oblivion where when a cell resets, enemies and loot inside containers both respawn. Until I hear otherwise, that will be my assumption.

I haven't played Oblivion or Morrowind for so long and I couldn't remember exactly how it worked. Thanks Lemunde!
