Post » Thu Oct 06, 2011 10:15 am

Idk if this is old news (didnt see anything of the first page about it) but it appears that Xbox has announced Skyrim will have 50 achievements and 1000 points.

I'm afraid this is old and has been posted literally dozens of times.

Thanks for sharing it though.

To be completely honest is achievements only rubbish. Why did they have to put it in the game?

Because BGS never had a choice in the matter, if the game is going to be an Xbox 360 title then it must have achievements.

Don't be sorry, this happens all the time.

As for the achievements, they all look fairly standard, no ridculously difficult or tedious ones and no stupid trivial ones either. Definately a step up from Oblivion's "One achievement per quest" malarky.

I'm sure that achievements are easy to implement and don't take away too much time from actual game development. if you don't like them then don't do them. Simple enough?

You get a acheivment when you hit lvl 10? How could I ever fail to do that. Btw, if this only is for 360 then I won't complain since i won't play on it.

What do achievements give you in regards to the game? If nothing then I still don't see a point in achievements other than a, "Look at my points!" mentality which quite frankly, I think I grew out of when we stopped playing video games on a point system (i.e. - Pacman). I'd also rather not let people know how much time I devote to playing a video game.

Achievements are for Steam, PSN and Live.

Now there's an idea for a mod, one that can remove achievements from my "single player game"

You can argue about the worth of achievements themselves, but I think we all can agree that these ones are a HUGE improvement over Oblivion's.

You really shouldnt be complaining now.... fair enough if you dont like em but why be so petty?

On the 360 I turned the acheivment notification off. I'm thinking you can do the same

I think they're more for "I was able to do this and here's the proof" (and to enlarge your e-[censored]). Also, you realize that the only people that will see your gamerscore or trophies are other gamers. Unless you haven't actually grown out of "look at my points!" and turn your system on just to show people them.

Edit: Oh that censor is just sad.

Yeah, they censor everything, watch this, if I say...

I-n _ S-o-v-i-e-t _ R-u-s-s-i-a ...

and without the dashes...

I am not funny

It'll say I'm not funny, even though it's correct in the assumption.
