(Ideas) Adding character voices to more than just swings and

I was playing Oblivion and thought about something. My smite of order spell has your character male or female using his/her voice to speak, then you hear a great booming voice answer. Once the strike has happened, your character says, "You'll never escape the final judgement!".

I know the game is finished and this is only conjecture for future TES games but I figured how cool it would be to have your character use his/her voice during the casting of spells (obviously not with the silent casting using the illusion perk ability) or when dealing with other NPC's.

Good idea or bad?

terrible, actually
being able to imagine our own voice is a major part of RPing in an elder scrolls game

Good point, I was also thinking as far back as Baulders Gate where you selected from a list of voice actors for your characters. Maybe have that as an option.

Don't think that will exactly work for TES, although I did love Baulders gate, since the characters you create in TES are unique, adding voices will severely cut back in our characters uniqueness.

Hmm now I want to play baulders gate....

It was cool in Dragon age origins, but it worked in that setting because there wasn't a whole lot you could do outside the main story, so you had very little room to develop your character beyond what they gave you. TES is so far off the rails of the main story, it practically doesn't have them at all, so limiting players in that way isn't the best idea.
It's a good idea, just not for this kind of game

Gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the idea. One of the (numerous) flaws with DA2 was the idiotic voice the main character had. Sounded like some snooty butler from a crappy movie or something. I prefer the silent type.

I would love it, including Monkey Island style insult fighting rather than currently being a one way deal. This is not for everyone though, so it has to be an option for it. I might even grow tired of it myself eventually. But all player lines as voice for multiple voices are going add a significant bit to the game size, making it a bit unsuitable for a 1 disc dvd production.
