Can we ever get Mods on the X-box?

Post » Thu Oct 06, 2011 9:32 pm

Whilst watching an interview with Todd howard, the Interviewer questioned todd on the different game experience X-box and Ps3 players get to those who play
the game on the PC. Obviously referring to not only the graphics but the ability for Pc player to create and download mods. Todd then replied that he was going
to try and work out a deal (with Microsoft, sony) in which mods can be taken from the PC community and placed on to the X-box or Ps3. I personally think its great
because as a console gamer I feel I am missing out on the experience of playing mods from third parties. What are your thoughts on this?

Not anytime soon. Microsoft and Sony care to much about their consoles security and their money,

Of course they should be allowed on consoles as well, I'm all up for platform equality and hopefully when the new generations consoles are released, this stupid platform war ends. I'm a PC gamer.

Mods are easily possible on the consoles. Except texture mods, it would destroy them.

However, MS and Sony will never allow it. And that's that.

Maybe in a decade. :P

At the very most, you might get a similar level of customization / "modding" as Forza 3 has in the next TES game.

Ha h... thats a laugh and a half. My ass they do.
No, you wanna know the real reason they don't do it? Because they don't want peoples free mods to outshine their paid dlc and risk losing profit.

Easy to repeat what everyone on the web says isn't it? The truth is both of them are entertaining the idea. It will require a custom service be put in place for the submission and implementation of content though but I fully expect multiple services to piped through the next generation of Xbox Live and PSN and this would be one of them. It would change gaming forever.

A Microsoft console will never allow modding. Ever.

I don't like modding. I played Morrowind for PC and never cared for mods, it took away from the true nature and normality of the game for me. I played Oblivion on Xbox though.
