How will you complete your playthrough?

So I just beat Oblivion for the first time since 2006 and this time I really appreciated it. So with Oblivion I had a dilemma. Oblivion gates were annoying, especially when exploring in the wild and you run into a gate. For me it really messed the vibe up of exploring. But I really dont like to finish my mainquest in games until I completed all of my sidequest. But due to those annoying Oblivion gates I basically forced myself to beat the mainquest. So upon completing the epic mainquest I was kind of left with a blank feeling. Like I know I have tons of sidequest just waiting to be completed but I kind of lost my motivation. I just got a wierd feeling like I was completely done but I really wasnt.

So I decided that I should play Skyrim how I played kotor, mass effect, fallout 3, and new vegas. Do sidequest then finish off with the mainquest. Because for me it just doesnt feel right the other way around.

I want you guys to tell me how you will complete your playthrough.

Yeah after beating the end of OB's quest I was expecting more... but all we got is a stupid piece of armor, and nothing else was mentioned. :sadvaultboy:

Not to mention the OB gates got REALLY annoying and repetetive.

Let's just hope Skyrim pulls through.

I'm very biased toward exploration, so the MQ tends to be the last thing on my mind, but I do attempt to get the first part completed, like getting Martin to cloud temple, after that I ignore the MQ unless I accidentally bump into it.
Yeah, the Oblivion gates annoyed me also, mostly because they changed the sky and weather when you were nearby them.

I tend to do all the side-quests and finding rare items before starting the main quest, I normally do that with all Bethesda games.

I will do exactly like this, start it but then go explore. :turtle:

I'm going to make an Orc MQ rush on easier (2 of 5) setting just to get a feel of the game mechanics and also because I never make orcs before and they look awesome this time round.

Once the MQ is done in maybe 30-40 hours and I have downloaded the latest patches, I will start a new playthough on harder (4 of 5) setting. I plan to complete every side quest/faction and leave the MQ for the last, hopefully at the 400/500 hour mark, at maximum level, on highest differculty with an Alduin that scales hard to my level.

By the time I defeat Alduin I'll be the grandmaster of 2 guilds, have a reputation of 100+, and have 70-90 dungeons labelled "cleared". Oh, and also a level of 60-70

1) Explore everything I can and pick up quests.
2) Do all side quests.
3) Do main quest.
4) Kill everything and everyone.
Done.

Eh, well, maybe, maybe not on 4...might just kill the NPCs I don't like.
