Anyone else like the "little" things?

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 11:02 am

I don't know, it may be just me but I've always loved the little things that are added to video games. I absolutely love the fact that they are adding small things like a better Tavern atmosphere, fights, drinking games, etc... The jobs you can do, the interactions with people. Marriage, buying and decorating your homes.

Anyone else love the little things that are added to the game?

What other little things to do you hope will be in the game?

I really think it. It feels like it makes the world more realistic and like you can actually have an impact.

No so much just the jobs and such, but the whole economy. Being that if you screw up a town's economy, it screws up everything in it.

That to me is the biggest thing because now I feel like things I do could have more of a repercussion, unlike Oblivion where I could steal everything from stores and such and it never effected the place at all.

lol.

"Guys, where's all of our s**t?"

"Dunno, but that stranger came here in chains, and left riding a horse carrying a HUGE bag."

"Probably unrelated, wanna go get some drinks?"

Hahaha

Of course I do, its a freaking open world game, these little things add a great depth to the game.

A great deal of Roleplayers, ignore the quest and create their own quest while playing espcially when you RP as a hunter, or a smith among other things when the game offers quest for you, all these little things, marriage, taverns, ect ect add great deal.
Although some players just rush through the game without fully enjoying it.

I'll give you a small example, In fallout 3, I forgot the name of the place, but I think its minefield, in one of the house there are two skeletons in a bed hugging each other with some med-x(Med-x nulls pain btw) in the nightstand, most players would just rush into the room and loot it then leave, but what i saw is a couple that injected themselves with med-x and embraced each other while the bombs fell.

TES is almost entirely about the little things.
Who ever finished Daggerfall's MQ?
And how often did the MQs of even Morrowind and Oblivion go completely untouched?

I like the breed of dogs they chose to be in Skyrim, I LOVE the Conjured Bow and have already based a character who only uses Spirit weapons. I like they they kicked things up a notch from Morrowind -> Oblivion -> Skyrim with regards to langauge. the Dwemer Books were pretty much gibberish (some) the Alyied had a light language game wise, and now a whole game feature is based around the Language and Lore of Dragons, six beyond six I might say.

the Fish jumping in the river?, the Aurora in the night? yeah some excellent little things going on here.

I'm just a loot-[censored], so anything else extra that I can loot is great. I would loot feces if I could throw it at the Dunmer.

Absolutely. The little things make the game a better RPG.

Edit: Hopefully this time the player character uses a sleeping animation. Also it would be great if the player character could hold a mug in his hand. (PC players get these with mods, but console players should have them too)
