No, it never works. Look at WoW, they tried it, and they ended up just converting all the currencies back into one at the end of every patch, kind of defies the point...

Yes.

Give us Medes. (Septims make no sense)

Give us Rebel Currency, Falmer coins, Dwemer coins, and any other lore coins that fit in Skyrim.

100 copper = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 gold. That would work for me. But a big point in having it would be to add weight to coins, together with letters of value for use when buying really expensive things like houses. These letters would be usable only a few selected places. Also bring back "you feel lighter" ;) where a bad thief only get to pickpocket from the "top layer" (copper) and a good thief also from the "middle layer" (silver). If you don't pack a certain amount of each, you risk actually loosing highly valuable gold.

It doesn't make sense to have it in just for the sake of having it in, without added elements from it. And besides, what's in the game now is what we get, there is really no point in discussing it at this point. So I didn't bother to vote :)

We don't know how far Mede's dynasty goes, so I say NAY to "medes." Besides, if you want people to legitimately support you, you should maintain a popular currency named after a popular and successful dynasty. There's no reason to change something that's been called "septims" for at least 450 years. The Empire in Skyrim probably claims direct lineage from the Septim dynasty, anyway.

The Stormcloaks probably use it for the same reason (i.e., claimed lineage from the Septim dynasty).

I have no problems with it all being the same type of currency, right now.

The stormcloak rebellion is just starting and as such Skyrim isn't a sovereign nation yet. As part of the Empire they would still use Imperial gold.

Beyond that, gold is still gold. People wont care what is on it as much as they do the value of it.

This isn't like NV with several clearly established groups, its just the Empire and the Stormcloaks (who are too young a faction for their own gold, given it just started as far as we know)

Septims are named for Tiber Septim, and have his bust upon it. Tiber Septim is now Talos and therefor the Septims feature Talos, and Mede has thus banned the worship of Talos (failure to abide by that law = death, or so I've heard). The empire is crumbling, the Septim Dynasty is completely over. The a new dynasty has begun. It would make sense to have the empire use different currency.

Given that Mede's empire and the rebel Stormcloaks are at odds, it would make sense for them to utilize different currency. For example, during the American Civil war, the Confeterates (rebel) did not utilize the currency of the Union (empire). If anything, the Rebels would utilize Septims, and the Empire would use Medes (or anything other than Septims)...

But it has been 200 years since the Septim Dynasty has ended... One would think that something would change in regards to currency, especially due to the conflicts in the other provinces....
