The mods I used with Fallout were the types that increased a sense of deadliness so that combat was extremely dangerous for both the player and for the enemies. Gunspread, skill does not affect weapon damage, only doctors and doctors bags can treat crippled limbs, damaged limbs incur severe penalties, sprinting and bullet time, no indicators with sneak, running and crouching and standing still affects aim precision, etc.
Are there any mods to similarly enable lots of player deaths for me in Oblivion? Is there even a fDamageWeaponMult setting? But it wouldn't affect creatures, would it? I remember one mod that helped very much, it was called Kuertee's Attribute-Based and Skill-Based Damage Modifiers. It made a huge difference, even though I eventually became powerful enough to relax again. Do you know any others? Better criticals, crippling effects, penalties would be good, but full speed backpedaling is allowed.
Oh, I could try Deadly Reflex 6 for the new moves, but is it really deadly for the player?
