Dual Torches (hardcoe pyromancer)

Post » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:28 am

Hey guys

Since the player can attack with torches, have you thought about making a charcater who wanted to be a mage but lacked the finesse and the cunning required, so he decided to equip two torches and a cheap set of armor who smell ale and he decides to go on a drunk rampage slaugthering dragons and such. Any thought about dual torches?

Would be funny that when he was shouting one of his dragon powers his ale ridden breath set on fire from the torches! :flamethrower:

Actually that's really interesting.

Is it possible? Cause if it is I might just do it.

I highly doubt we can dual wield torches but the hardcoe pyromancer sound cool maybe a flame spell in one hand and a torch in the other for melee dmg :flamethrower:

God, the show. I imagine a character so well, I think that if dual torch is possible, I will make it real. Dual torches.....would be funny to have beter torches with better damage output.

My god this is such a farfetched and fantastic idea.

I smell a DLC story.

i thought all you could do with torches was block and counter. that would make them more like shields in Skyrim's combat mechanics which would mean that it's unlikely to be able to dualwield them since you can't dual wield shields.

Bah, we'll see, but I heard torches could be used as weapons, no?

as i said, i thought you could only block with them and counter if you have the appropriate perk.

I'm not saying it isn't a cool idea, I personally think that anything equippable in your hands should be equippable in both hands and at the same time, regardless of how infeasible people think it is. I want true freedom and I already know I will not have it in Skyrim.

Yeah, we can't dual shield which svcks, (I wanted to be a war tortle). But even then, skyrim is the only big freedom game on the market.

I agree, it's going to be the most awesome sandbox game ever, still would have liked to truly dual wield anything though.

One thing always bothered me about people wanting that. It looks rather unrealistic and silly.

My concern is that an NPC might do the same and pick up 2 shields after you disarm him or something like that.
Sure it's all good fun when only your character can do it, but in my opinion that's what mods are for.

I still hope dual wielding torches will be in though, they're much easier to control than shields. And they're not that heavy either.

realism hardly matters in a game with elves and dragons and magic and the rest, and silliness hardly matters in a game that likes to use "choice" in it's tagline so much. how do you even know it looks unrealistic and silly? you haven't actually seen it, no one has, except maybe play testers, but i'm willing to bet the possibility hasn't even been tested at bethesda, probly just shot down at the moment of such an idea's conception.

maybe you're just not seeing the potential that others clearly see, doesn't mean such potential isn't there.

Yeah, my only concern is that torches may not have upgraded versions, but damn, setting people aflamme with two torches with an alcoolic character would be damn cool. Imagine the house filled with booze, torches and books about "The danger and such of setting your house and those of the neighboors in fire" by Hulgar "Fire Butcrack"

still think its amazing that one magazine telling a joke in an article has lead to a complaint for skyrim thats almost internet meme worthy. :flamethrower: :turtle:

I think it's been confirmed that you can't dual torches... Can't give source, but I feel like i've heard this... It was in the wrap up of the "no dual-shielding" bit.

Buuuut You CAN enchant your weapon with flames. thus creating a great torch/weapon.

Maybe enchanting clubs with a fire enchatement? That could be a nice alternative

Fyrisi is right; I don't have the link, but as I recall torches are equipped to the offhand automatically and can't be held in the right hand.

ya thatd be sick if you could have a fire spell in your left hand and then a nasty torch in your right hand and then for your shout have the breath fire shout so u can shoot fire balls and hit with a fire melee damage and even breathe a flame thrower so u could [censored] stuff up using flames =) :flamethrower: :intergalactic:

From how I understood it, you can't. Because it replaces something something in your something something. or something like that.

I'm remembering this a little more-

You can't dual torch. Nor can you equip a torch into your 'right hand.'
Just like you can't equip shields into your right hand.
