Info on Werewolves

Post » Sat Oct 08, 2011 3:40 am

I have been browsing these forums for quite some time now and I finally decided to make an account so I could fill you guys in on Werewolves.

So most of you probably won't believe me because this forum account is fairly new, but if you believe me or not is not my concern. I thought a lot of you guys wanted to know if Werewolves were going to be in Skyrim or not, so that's what I am here to talk about.

I have read the forum rules multiple times so as far as I know, talking about this isn't against the rules, but if it is, then go ahead and lock/delete the entire thread.

Anyways, I visited a site rather recently that had some really important news. It turns out the Werewolves are planned to be in Skyrim. Vanilla, or DLC, Bethesda doesn't know yet. (At least, back in July when the video was made they didn't.)
The person who made the video says that he gets a lot of his information from someone he does not want to name, but instead he calls him "Mr. Dovahkiin". He doesn't know how this person gets the information but it always turns out 100% legit. Supposedly "Mr. Dovahkiin" confirmed that Werewolves are supposed to be in Skyrim, but Bethesda hasn't finished the Werewolf transformation yet, only the Werewolf human form, so they disabled it for the time being.
Also, in an interview at E3 that was filmed by Bethesda, Todd Howard was talking about the history of the Were-Creatures, The Disease, and that they are planning on different fur markings for Werewolves in Skyrim. Unfortunately, the interview never aired on TV.

Basically what I am saying is that there will be Werewolves in Skyrim, but they may be held off for DLC content. I hope this post cleared up some confusion/filled you guys in. Again, if you don't believe me, that's your problem. I have sufficient proof, but unfortunately this board does not allow me to post said proof.

But who knows? Maybe they finished Werewolves by now? The video talking about the Werewolves was made back in July. So it is quite possible that Bethesda has finished making the Werewolves. It is also quite possible that they decided to hold off on finishing them and they are going to be in DLC.
I hope they are going to be in the vanilla game, but it seems that every day that passes by the chances seem less and less. They have already confirmed Vampires, but nothing about Werewolves. So they have either decided to release them as DLC, or they want it to be a suprise.

Thanks for your time.

Oh, I've heard of that guy before, the guy who always gets the legit stuff, "Mr. Dovakhiin" as you called him. He's probably a member of Bethesda's staff, and that's why he won't give his name (he isn't allowed to talk about that stuff.) Also, when GameInformer interviewed Todd Howard several months ago (it's still on their website) he said they wanted to put werewolves in.

I thought it was common knowledge that you wouldn't be able to be a werewolf in Skyrim vanilla, but there was a possibility of were-creatures. I always figured it would be held off to a DLC, or not at all.

Thanks anyway.

Why do you think that? Werewolves come from Skyrim, it would be common sense to put them in, or it wouldn't be canon.

I've heard more than once that were beasts were mentioned off camera at E3. But then... why so secretive? I'm partly convinced because of Hines "Quit trying to spoil the damn game" comment.

Wait, you're saying it doesn't make sense to have Werewolves in vanilla, but there is a possibility to have the other Were-Creatures?

Doesn't make sense to me.

Like I said, they could very well have were-creatures in at initial release, but I seriously doubt we will be able to become one. It's plausible they'll hold off for a DLC, like in Morrowind, and then we will be able to become one.
But, a man can hope, and you do bring up a good point.

I think that after all of the hype they have gotten for them they would be crazy not to make them as at least DLC

Sorry, let me clarify.

There is a chance, however slight, there will be werewolves and other were-creatures in Skyrim at release. It's very unlikely we will be able to become one until DLC, if at all.
