Had Oblivion for quite a while and since I just upgraded my computer I thought i'd play again.

Loaded the disc and installed okay and can get through the charractor design bit and into the start dungeon when it then crashes.

If I load the game again it crashes whilst loading after clicking continue or new.

Have installed the latest patch and have no addons at all.

Please help.


Using Win 7 64 bit

2 x GTX580 SLI
16 GB Ram
i7 2600 processor on a Asus P8Z68 MB

Every other game works fine, it's really frustrating!

try getting rid of your saves folder in my games.

First question...did you install the game in the default Program Files directory? With Vista and Win7 that is frowned upon...due to security safeguards the OS enables on that folder... and can lead to all sorts of complications. If you did so it's best to un-install and then re-install the game elsewhere. Might or might not be your problem, is worth a shot.
