Blur Effects while reading

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 6:15 am

One of the newest screen shots released shows our PC looking at a note with a black hand and the words "We know". Something interesting I noticed was that the background of the room was blurred, which to me is a very awesome effect, 90% of the time we read or focus on an object the background is out of focus. With that being siad was this going to be something that happens when we read or just examining objects and even though the background blurs does this mean no more "Pausing" when we read or open our inventory? If this has been posted before I appologize. :cryvaultboy:

I'd answer..but I don't know. Not sure if time continues behind also or if it pauses. I'd guess since stuff in the menu pauses the game basically, reading probably will do the same :)

Btw, Epic avatar.

I'm not completely sure of my memory, but I think in oblivion when you read a book, it would just have the text from the pages overlap your entire screen, so you wouldn't see the background anyways.

But this small effect is nice when further examining weapons and equipment. And I'm pretty sure time will pause.

would be nice if life did go on but I gusse it would be a problome on systems to handle the blur effect in a room full of people milling about and theres the fact no one wants to get thier head caved in for reading in the wrong area, still I'm giving 2 thumbs up for Bethesda going with the background blur effect :celebration:

The world still pauses when entering your inventory or any other menu other than dialogue.

Which I prefer. I don't want to be reading a book when all of a sudden.. OMG DRAGON ATTACK ripped out of the menu.
