SKYRIM ONLINE ARENA

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 3:16 pm

As a fan of the Elder Scrolls series, I think it would be kind of cool to introduce an online arena. In Oblivion, you could enter the arena and fight or you could sit back, watch, and bet on who you think would win. This would make an interesting addition to the game. Having some sort of world ranking in the arena would be kind of cool. Like in Oblivion, you could fight to be the "Grand Champion".

In the online arena, you could choose to watch and bet on these fights, people voting for the winner would split the total amount of gold collected in the pot. When you chose to fight, you could enter the fight under your gamertag, instead of the default names such as "The Butcher" or the "Black Arrow".

The two combatants could also fight to collect the other's helmet or hood used during that fight. The loser should not have to lose his helmet completely, the winner should just get like a duplicate saying "Sneakyness' Hide Helmet". This would make a cool kind of trophy case that would add on to this DLC and it would also stop "boosting" because the helmet/hood would go into your trophy case.

But yeah, its just something I'd like to see in a game and I think a lot of people would agree. Plus, you would satisfy those who wanted multiplayer in the game and wouldn't have to take away or add on to the main storyline at all.

If anyone wants to discuss or trade opinions on Skyrim, feel free to add me on XboxLive, my gamertag is Sneakyness.

Yeah, would be cool. Only problem is, anybody using mods couldn't compete.

The only way this could work on PC was if it was a stand-alone client, otherwise it would get messy with the mods

Let's leave PC, and give it to the consoles. http://s3.amazonaws.com/kym-assets/entries/icons/original/000/000/091/Problem.jpg?1236877228?
OT: For PC, there could be a client just for that, like Wothan said.
For consoles, lol we can't even mod, we're off the hook and we'll get that. (if it ever comes out which it won't)

I say no, it just doesn't belong in a single-player experience such as TES or Fallout. Agree to disagree, yes? :tops:

This is really the only DLC I'd be anticipating. I'd play all the story-based and other DLC, mind you, but the whole idea of a PvP Arena would be incredible.

That's a good idea to be honest. It's not like a consoler could ever hope to stand a chance against someone with mouse and keyboard or the sensibility to use a proper gaming platform anyway ^^

Yeah, I've thought of the modders, I play on the Xbox 360 so we don't even have to worry about it -___________________-

Only if the online arena is separate from my sinlge player world and the online experience does not alter anything in my single player world.
Then I dont see the problem.

No,
1) Time to develop such a thing is a waste of time.
2) TES is not about that, its about playing a character without the neeed to consider how strong other characters are or how others play their game.
3) Truth is, people will not realize this is a true RPG where you get to actualy roleplay truthfully your character. They will be distracted by the arena and think it as an action-rpg (Idc about that actually, but game reviewers will look too much at the wrong aspects)
4) Bad for the ES community, flood of people who like multiplayer arena battles against others are the sort we... Do not like.
