Greaves & Cuirass combined

No this is not a flame thread or me complaining....

I think that in the end the combining of greaves and cuirass will be required because it can only help with in-game rendering to make the game more stable especialy when theirs a good number of NPC's all on the screen at once.

But heres another speculated thought:

Bethesda said that the "cuirass" and "greaves" have been combined which would include all armor, but what about clothing? Doe this mean that some clothing in the game will still be "shirt" or "pants" and not just "shirt AND pants"? Also I think theres a good chance that even though armor will now be combined that the Creation Kit will still have the "upperbody" and "lowerbody" slots available for all apparol (unless this was also changed) which would mean modders can still change the default armor and add their own created apparol for the upperbody AND the lowerbody.

Just an idea...

Assuming Bethesda didn't just feed us a PR line, and it is true that by combining the pieces, render time can be reduced, creating more characters on screen. I am totally in favor of the change. Granted, a perfect solution would have kept all our armor slots in tact, with the same results, but we don't live in a perfect world, nor would I even want to.

Additional, it looks like the Armors in general have a lot more in the way of variety and personality. If being able to expand creativity to always include the leg slot helped in this, I can't say, but they sure as heck made the most good of a seemingly bad situation

I'll bet cash money that clothes have been combined into a single pants/shirts slot. Morrowind had an identical number of slots for clothes and armor and Oblivion had an identical number of slots for clothes and armor. I see no reason why it would be any different in Skyrim.

Shirt and pants is now merged to "clothes", just like armour.

"I think that in the end" Oh really?

3) Is armor handled like in Oblivion (with each body part being welded together) or in Morrowind (with each body part separate)? Will you be able to wear both clothes and armor at the same time?
Matt: [...] We get much better visual results combining those pieces, and it renders a lot faster too, so we can put more people on screen, so that was an easy tradeoff for us. [...}

Why would there be separate slots in the Construction Set, if all armor and clothes have one slot? That's doesn't make sense. Oblivion didn't have separate slots in the Construction Set for both boots.
The Skyrim Construction Set isn't just a pimped up version of Oblivion's. It's new.
