OH K my name is Lazihomer.....

and I never played a Elder Scrolls game before....

And i just heard about it a week ago (even though I subscribe to game informer and they had a magazine on it, i skipped that one)

just last year i played fallout new vegas and at First I hated it

but within time i grown to love it moar and moar!! (yes! i spelled more wrong on purpose)

so I wanted to know if Syrim is where i should start???

since like fallout each game is different......

If you can help me decide that would be cool...

My wallet died with senior dues, yearbook,SAT's and all that crap //_^

so the only games I bought were Dead Island and Battlefield 3.

So Help me!!!

Skyrim will be fine standalone. It is set 200 years after the previous game, so although there may be references you won't understand, it won't affect the gameplay at all.

As for where you should start, I'm of the opinion that if you have a very small amount of money to spend, it wouldn't hurt to buy Oblivion for the simple fact that it's AWESOME as well as incredibly cheap and will while away the 5 weeks left until Skyrim arrives. It will also let you know if you enjoy the Fantasy genre, as I found it quite different to Fallout.

Hit up the GOTY edition of Oblivion, if you can handle five year old graphics and the annoying differences between skyrim. You've got a month to get a feel for a TES game :D

Don't buy Oblivion. There's too little time to get a full grasp of it before Skyrim comes out anyway (assuming your life consists of more than just games). Wait for Skyrim and enjoy the games you have now.
