'Dark Souls will eat Skyrims face!'

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 5:03 pm

(idk if this will be moved or what)
I dont know if anybody else read that somewhat rambling IGN vs. of Dark Souls VS. Skyrim but i had a hard time believing that a real IGN reviewer wrote that.
But I just got Dark Souls (and it is quite awesome :ahhh: ) but one of the points that got brought up in that review was the Limited edition value of both games. I would just like to say i am VERY disappointed in the dark souls LE, the art book is really cheap quality, and the digital download code for the soundtrack, strategy guide and videos doesn't even work for most of the people who bought it.
But all in all Im really loving Dark souls but it is so different from TES that you cant even compare them like IGN did. I would highly recommend purchasing both dark souls and skyrim.

Mmmmh, dark souls is a very different game. it is more similar to Severance to me other than an elder scrolls.
Or maybe that reviewer is just a little troll.

Dark Souls is a linear, 3rd person only hack and slash with stationary pattern type bosses.

No thanks.

Dark souls is an inferior product if you calculate it mathematically.

I just got Dark Souls from Gamefly last night. This game is way to difficult to play and doesn't really have any story but just running around aimlessly wondering where the heck i'm supposed to go or do. So far i'm not impressed by the game but I will give it a chance to be fair.

3th person, while I can choose for a 1th person game...No thanks.
Dark souls is just a " epic monster blabla game" ...I just don't like that kinda games that much.

This is what i thought, it would be unwise and unrewarding for you to blindly think this.

Hah. I really dislike people's opinions. :)

I think Dark Souls rocks, and yes, it's better than Skyrim from what I can tell. Skyrim will be a solid 8/10 though.

You can't really compare them, they are too different.

I'll get both, but Skyrim is coming first. I'll probably get Dark Souls along with a few other games for Christmas. By the way, use the search feature. We've seen this thread 20 times now..

I dont really see the point in comparing 2 games that really dont have much in common other than having dragons/swords etc.

I bought Dark souls to tide me over till skyrim.
All im gonna say is, The difficulty seems to have been their major selling point, which they've done very well. So well, that im back to waiting on Skyrim :P

No point complaining about it being too hard though, when that is what they were aiming for.

We have open threads to discuss" Dark Souls" in Community Discussion section. As for pitting one game against another in a "vs" thread...we don't allow that. I'm pretty sure there is room for more than one good game this year. ;)
