Just out of curiosity. Mine is Illusion, which you can tell from my username.

Restoration. Mix it up with a bit of alchemy, does wonders for your lifespan.

Conjuration all the way. It appeals to my feelings of Domination, Control, Servitude. The indirect power to use Other Powers!

Might help explain why I make lawful characters. Judges, policemen, overlords, businessmen. Hoho

edit--!
On the other hand, it's also the power of friendship and relationship. Spirits/undead/demons are your comrades. Don't make them kill you.

I am making a presumption about Skyrim.... but Alteration, because of the utility that it brings, the concept of altering the world around you, and the new cool looking shield + late game perks (I presume the absorption is late game).

I like the concept of illusion, but find it lacking in game (judging from Oblivion). Fear/Rally were pointless, I see no gains in simply delaying a fight that will happen. Invisibility/Chameleon is cool, but outside of a few sneak quests falls in the same group as above. Paralyze was kick ass, but I believe it is now in Alteration... And so on.

Destruction seems far better now that magic has different forms, and may turn into the one I prefer. But my experience in Oblivion where it seemed bland is holding me back.

Likewise for Restoration. Healz! And that is it...

Conjuration was cool, but I always felt I was putting the game onto auto or something since I just stood there and watched the fighting.

EDIT: Oh, I was so hoping for cooler conjuration perks! Like:

1) 30% of damage dealt to you is passed on to your summon

2) Once summoned, you can continue to cast the spell to transfer your magical power to your minion

3) If you re-cast the same summon as is already in existence, it is dismissed and a portion of its cost is used to replenish your mana

etc.

I guess summoning 2 guys is cool... But still :/

Two things.

1) Conjuration isn't present.

2) Mysticism doesn't exist.

Yea, I hope Alteration and Illusion have been improved this time around. At least by a leap and bound.

And yea. TES makes conjuration very automated. A bummer in some ways, since we can't direct our creatures ( ... we can direct animal companions like dogs. Maybe we do so with summons? I don't know. It's a stretch). Though, I also like how it summons weapons; if you ever get around to reading Redguard lore, they are very mystic. Maybe even Jedi, in some ways. Summon their own mystic blades with the power of thought and charge into battle :)

I have read a little (very little), but heard a lot on the Redguards, and their lore does sound awesome. However, this is not represented in game at all imo. In game they are always dull swordsmen. Nothing unique. Here is some heavy armour, a shield, and a sword. Do not go crazy like those Nords and Orcs though! One, two. One, two... Bleh :P

Anyway, I think the look of the new shield spells may make Alteration cool by its self.

illusion has the potential to be the strongest school of magic, and it's entire concept is interesting to me. controling the minds of others, making them see and hear what you want them to see and hear or break their minds, drive them to insanity and make them lash out at friends they once held dear

Conjuration. There is nothing quite like watching my little pets sauaging my enemies.

lol yea, it's totally not in-game for redguards. I think it's just a current fad of mine. Who knows :) At least now, we actually get to see Nord lore to work out and see them use their super Voice.

I do like how alteration became more useful from TES3 to TES4. TES5 is looking good
