Europe Release Date? : V

Most games in Europe come out 3 days after they are released in the US but will Skyrim be the same or would it be released on the same date? (I really hope so.. at least I'll have the weekend to start playing it!

Worldwide release is 11/11/11. So it should come out the same day.

The only reason Europe gets games 3 days later is because the US usually release on Tuesday and Europe release on friday. However like MGS4, Skyrim is a worldwide release meaning it releases the same time.

It's specifically on a Friday to accommodate the European market.

The reason for the delay, typically, is that games are released on Tuesday in the US (I have no idea why) and Friday in Europe. Since 11-11-11 is a Friday, everyone gets it the same day.

It's 11.11.11 according to UTC-5 though, hence I suppose we europeans should be able to unlock the steam encrypted files 5 hours later.

If it's at 12:00 and not midnight it's not a huge deal.

I think the reason they're released on Tuesdays is because I believe sales figures come in on Mondays or something like that. At least that's what I remember hearing about it. Whether or not you believe that is up to you. Personally I don't care as here in the U.S. we get our game releases on Tuesday and then Fridays are for movie theater releases. We're entertained throughout the week.

Yeah I really don't care what day of the week something comes out, but Friday for a game like Skyrim seems to be a better time to be released, you get the weekend to play it, where some people don't get a chance to play new releases until the weekend anyways.
