How long will it take you to visit all nine cities?

Post » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:49 pm

I'm going to try to force myself to visit a new city only every few days or so.

To me, the best part about the game is walking into a new city for the first time and having a look around.

If there are nine cities (five major and four minor), and I visit a new one only every three (real life) days, that would mean it'd be about a month before I saw all the cities the game had to offer.

Of course, in the meantime, I could still be doing quests and other stuff in the cities I had already visited. And even after I see all of the cities, I know I still have all of the wilderness to explore!

There are well more than nine cities.

For me it will all depend on where the quests take me. There are still a few of the smaller settlements that I have never entered in Oblivion. I will most likely do the Companions first, then The College of Winterhold, then the main quest. Unless it is better to finish the Civil War stuff first, then I will do that first.

There are well more than nine cities.

5 cities have their own cells(loading), 4 you can walk in/out of with no loading. The rest are considered small towns, so they will be smaller then the 4 minor ones, and theres about 12 of those I believes.

The map shows only seven small towns. Someone in another topic said they cut five towns.

Yep I believe you're right. I at least hope these 12 smaller settlements will be more substantial than Weye, Pell's Gate, Aleswell and the few other inns scattered about. But I have a feeling they'll be about that size.

Riverwood is a small settlement, and it has about 10 buildings in it.

300+ hours of content, which isn't gameplay, but the actual content.

There are exactly nine, and seven smaller settlements. Strange that there are fewer small towns than major settlements, but, oh well.

"How long will it take you to visit all nine cities? "

Probably around 30 minutes if I ran. :hubbahubba:

Though on my first playthrough, I'm going to take it slow- get sidetracked and go on adventures like I usually do.

The OP is talking about the "capital" cities of each hold.
Solitude, Windhelm, Riften, Whiterun, and Markarth have separate worldspaces. Morthal, Dawnstar, Winterhold, and Falkreath do not. Those are the nine that we're discussing.
