steam keeps updating fallout- it has done it 3 times in the last week. I try to play, but have to wait 8 hours for the update- what's going on?

There havent been any recent updates that im aware of. Did you buy retail? Install from a disk? Where are you located?

bought it as a download from steam, I think. played it for months, then downloades dlc last week.
I'm located in WA, usa

is there a way to disable steam, that is play the game without opening steam?

Did the downloadable content install correctly? Did it install at all? Have you been able to play it?

dlc installed fine and i have been playing it. had some crashes in the first couple days, but lately it works fine, except that it's now updating again.

i turned off updates in the games preferences, but it still wants to update.
i just read about offline mode- I'll try that tonight after work
gotta go to work now
