So after taking Ed-E to the Fort in every one of my playthroughs, something I've noticed is that he always gets a blue laser cannon in addition to his red pea shooter laser once he's visited the Fort for the first time.Now I'm wondering if that blue laser is his Followers of the Apocalypse laser or not? I always get him refurbished by the Brotherhood of Steel, and he still keeps the blue laser. I'm wondering if there's maybe a glitch or something that adds his blue upgraded laser to his inventory when you visit the Fort with him, since he definitely does not have a blue laser before I go to the Fort with him and most definitely does have it afterwards. Or is it just a midgame strength laser weapon that they surreptitiously give him when the player isn't paying attention maybe? I don't know, but I want answers. Maybe I'll upgrade him with the Followers this time if it isn't completely redundant to.
