Its not so much that I skipped it, rather than I havent had a chance to play it.
Oblivion I played when it released just after the launch of the 360. It was amazing at first, but the leveling/scaling system eventually bothered me and there were so many good games to play I just got tired of it.
When Fallout 3 came out it looked interesting but I knew I wouldnt like it if had the same leveling/scaling system as OB. All the previews and reviews went out of their way to mention the adjustment in leveling/scaling. Also the 3 part demo(i think it was 3 parts) Todd voiced over looked wicked. So I gave it a whirl and absolutely loved it. I put in excess of 300 hours into the game.
At this time I was still using a windows os and I found out that Beth had put Arena and Daggerfall for free online. So I tried Daggerfall. It gave me the same headaches I used to get from playing doom. If I would have been playing the game when it was released I would have forced myself to play longer since it isnt a bad game at all.
Not long later I got tired of windows and became a linux guy. So I missed out on Morrowind. I didnt have a very powerful computer when it first came out and I had a ps2 instead of an xbox. So I havent had a chance to try it.
I played New Vegas and enjoyed it... AFTER WAITING 2 MONTHS. Since for me it was unplayable at release. But by december enough was patched that I could enjoy it. I put a little under 100 hours. It was a good game and the story lines were very good. But as a whole it wasnt as solid as Fallout 3. Then again it could just be that having to wait over 2 months to play a game that I preorder and got at a midnight release. By the time it was playable I could have spent $12 dollars to purchase it. Since I feel like my good faith was stepped on. It really colored my overall feeling in the game. Hell I look back and there were many things I enjoyed about the game. But the biggest memory is feeling like gamesas screwed me to make the holiday release.
Anywho that leads us the the announcement of Skyrim. I preordered the day after the unwatchable spike video game awards.(i refuse to watch that mockery of a awards show, thank the make for social media, skyrim news was all over the internets that very night) I had the game paid off in January. I joined a member of the forum simply because I have become voracious over every little tidbit of info that gets released and we dissect. I am very excited about Skyrim. This looks to be the game Ive wanted for a long time. A medieval fantasy game, with swords and sorcery, freaking dragons and the end of the world. Along with the lesson learned from OB and FO3. A new engine which looks bloody brilliant on the aging 360. Open world action rpg! Im ready!
Aha, well, if you can get over the dated graphics and somewhat dated mechanics of the game, I really do suggest giving Morrowind a go. What it lacks in visuals and combat, it makes up for ten-fold in story and the actual expanse of the world. Also no scaling monsters, you walk into a daedric shrine at level one and steal a daedric heart in that golden bowl...you dead.
Holy Moly. This was going to be a 2 sentence response. LOL
O-well. I still say the correct answer to your poll is [censored] em.
Rofl, in my next poll, there will be a honourary poll option for you in each question.
edit: I almost forgot. All this rambling and what I wanted to tell you was that I liked your poll.
Thanks haha
I was thinking about doing a % score diagram or whatnot, but alas, i'm to lazy.
