Part of being able to Sneak effectivley is being more aware of your surroundings. Blindly running around in the dark hoping to not be seen will not work for very long, however taking the time to stop and listen, feel and smell all that is around you will give you a better idea of your surroundings. To this end I have created this little mod that grants the player limited Nighteye and Detect Life abilities while sneaking in the dark. What limitations there are depend on your Sneak skill as follows:
Sneak Skill 0-24 - Nothing, stumble around blindly in the dark.
Sneak Skill 25-49 - Detect Life while standing still
Sneak Skill 50-74 - Detect Life and Nighteye while standing still
Sneak Skill 75-99 - Detect Life while standing still or moving and Nighteye while standing still
Sneak Skill 100+ - Detect Life and Nighteye while standing still or moving
I made this for my own use, but I'm open to any feedback on how you feel it could be better.
Compatibility
I can't imagine anything being incompatible. But this would be a good oppoutunity to get some Nighteye and Detect Life shader mods if you don't already have some.
This is my first Oblivion mod fit for public consumption. I'll probably go back and try to improve on it a bit once I'm more comfortable with Oblivion modding.
