ANGRY MAN "CRIES" FOUL ON CRYTEK; DEMANDS FIRM RESPONSE

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:45 pm

Cry-Tom, you replied to yesterday's thread, yet failed to answer any questions. "We're looking into it" is not an answer. How would Crytek like it they sent me the game and I played it for 6 months and then when it came time for me to pay for the game I kept saying "the check's in the mail"? Yeah, you wouldn't like that. Crytek might employ a collection agency to get their money. Well, Tom, I am the collection agency on behalf of the community, but I'm not collecting money--I'm collecting answers.

Now that we've got that out of the way let's see what else is on the docket today...

Oh yeah, you and your "further action" nonsense. I never said I was posting anyone's contact info anywhere. If I were able to obtain any contact info, the info would have to have been posted on the internet (made public) with the intent being for customers to use said information to contact Crytek staff. Contacting Crytek staff regarding a fix to a bug is hardly "malicious". Ripping off customers who paid hard-earned cash for something under the assumption that it would work properly, however, is malicious.

So pat yourself on the back, Cry-Tom, you've earned yourself one FTC complaint if my questions are not answered by the end of week #3. I do feel that five weeks is ample time for information to be revealed regarding this simple matter. Although I will have to check into the specifics of filing a complaint with the FTC and determine whether or not it is an appropriate venue to express complaint. Be assured, I will share my findings here so others can also file complaints if necessary.

On a similar note: I will also be posting my letters to Crytek staff here so that others can copy/paste them and e-mail then to the appropriate parties themselves when the time comes. I will be true to my word and I will make it as easy as I can for others to complain along with me. WE WILL NOT LET THIS BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG WHILE CRYTEK KEEPS PUSHING OUT SOFTWARE IN A MARKET WHICH HAS BECOME A NEAR CONSTANT CASH GRAB. FIX THIS ACHIEVEMENT!

Here is a quote from the previous topic that I was referencing;

Please post all Crytek contact info here, so that we may all valiantly support your peaceful protest by spamming the **** out of these Crytek employees.

Provided this thread does not descend to similar levels and remains a productive call to arms then it will remain, if it simply becomes a place to attemp to abuse Crytek and it's employees then it will need to be removed.

If only Crytek would fix Crysis 2 then all the posts declaring how bad support is for the game would go away real quick. Sadly, no patch is in sight.

As happy as I am with the console port of Crysis 1, it's ridiculous that Crysis 1 works better than Crysis 2.

I also can't wrap my head around the fact that Crytek doesn't care that their own forums are full of thread after thread begging for more game support and yet they seem content to just ignore all the issues.

I still can't get over how Crytek declared they would fix the grain glitch and then quietly axed that idea and brushed it under the rug. Cry-Adam even went as far as to tell me that they had recreated the issue internally which implied they were well on their way to fixing it. Of course, that was the end of it. That still bothers the hell out of me, but I stopped bashing Crytek on these forums because I was more likely to get a response by bashing a brick wall, literally, than getting Crytek to comment on it. Naturally, Crysis 1 on XBox 360 doesn't have any "grain glitch" so clearly they did fix it internally. Why they can't fix it in Crysis 2 is beyond me. It just doesn't make sense. It has to be money. There is no other reason why it can't be fixed.

I get the need for action like this but lets be honest, what is in it for Crytek to fix these issues?

The game undersold expectation, hence the rush to recoupe some revenue by releasing Crysis.

The game itself is in bargain bins everywhere and so few people are playing now or have completed the campaign, Crytek are not going to invest time and money into a game no one but a handful of people who care enough to be on these forums are still playing.

The bottom line here is Crytek have earned a reputation for lousy support as a result of this game, and it is a reputation which will stick with them through future games and lower sales.

It is disappointing because so many people are on here complaining because we are the loyal Crytek supporters, we do buy and keep their games, replaying them and playing online and we care about the product enough to complain, but I fear it is in vain.

They have had 6 months to give a suitable answer on the grain bug. How long does it honestly take to make a decision and communicate any or no action they will take? As someone who works for a software provider, taking 6 months to respond to a bug would be unacceptable and would result in court action. Instead these guys just ignore there loyal following and are getting away with it.

I am sure Crytek will learn the hard way that keeping your fans happy is the only way to success. Just ask the people at Bizarre Creations, or the dead mens shoes they stepped into with Homefront. It only takes one major failure to close a business these days and Crysis 3 is by no means a guaranteed success anymore and CryEngine 3 is hardly a prolific engine in AAA titles. Brand loyalty is a fickle thing, as are customers.

Crytek, if you are reading, I buy all your games, I recommend all your games and I have created many a sale for you, and I am not alone. How about giving something back?
