Have you ever felt more anticipation for a game than you do

Post » Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:01 pm

Well, I have been gaming since before the majority of the people on these boards
where born, and I have been VERY excited about a lot of game releases over the
years. However, only a handful of games has ever come close to the anticipation
I feel for Skyrim, and only one game, as far as I can remember, had me even more
exited about it's release than Skyrim. A totally awesome, super hard and absolutely
relentlessly unforgiving game.

STEEL BATTALION!!!

There's never been anything like it in the past, present, and I doubt in the future.

I still have it...I still play it...I still love it!!!

I remember seeing adverts and hearing talk about that game a long time ago. Never did get it though. Was it worth it?

I havent been this worked up over a game since i found out about oblivion. (played the crap outta morrowind.)
Oblivion was already out when i found out about it and when i got....my puter could barely play it on low settings. When I got a new puter a year later i had an awesome time with it.

As for Skyrim.....OMG. When I read about it being in the works, i almost [censored] myself. When they announced it at the beginning of this year i did [censored] myself.

Skyrim - the ONLY game i have EVER preordered!

cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait

I bought it and an Xbox1 just to play it and that back then was what, $450 or so.
Worth it? Was it, worth it? It was, worth every [censored] penny spent many times
over! I proceeded to buy up all the little VT toys that was released. Strategy guides
in Japanese just for the pictures etc. As I said, I still play it...

The controller is over THREE foot wide! What's not to like???

Having played and loved morrowind, I was excited for Oblivion, and left disappointed

I was also excited for Crysis 1, going to the extents of (jokingly) wearing a Blackhawk military magazine/holster vest with a friend at his house to play it from 10PM until about 6 AM on his big screen tv.

the most hyped up ive been for a game was after watching a commercial for super smash bros back in the day... and that game lived up to the hype TENFOLD! :starwars: :gun: :shocking:

but really, as a jaded and cynical advlt its pretty much impossible to be as hyped up for a game as you were when you were younger, no matter how better the marketing campaign or actual game.

Its up there but behind Halo 2, MGS 2 and GTA 3. I'm also more of a Fallout fan so Fallout 4 will probably be my most anticipated game ever.

How come Skyrim is behind all of those but fallout 3 is not among them? :whistling:

I'm always exited for Bethesda games, but I'll never be more excited for a game the way I was with Fallout 3.

Number one all time most anticipated for me. Actually no game since Knights of the Old Republic comes anywhere close. Mostly it's because I know that I will be satisfied with Skyrim and Skyrim alone for many many months to come, no other game in a long long time, or for sometime from here on will be able to entertain me as much for as long as Skyrim will.

Perfectly portrays Super Smash Bros gameplay through emoticons.

I had more anticipation for Oblivion, and was somewhat disappointed (although modders made it good after it was properly deleveled)

So far, though, I like everything I have heard and seen, but the Oblivion experience will always keep a cap on new game expectations.

I've never anticipated a game as much as I have for Skyrim. It was so great, I put in for a weeks vacation for when it comes out. Then I found out you need Steam and an internet connection at home to play it. Thanks for the big disappointment Bethesda! Thanks for making me waste my vacation!!!! Todd, I hope nobody ever discriminates against you for living in a rural area.

I'm sorry, but the wording of your Poll answer is...improper. So I didn't vote, even though I like to vote in Poll topics.

As for Skyrim, I have never anticipated a game as much as this one. I'm not concerned with it's place among the best games ever. I never really bother with that debate in general.

I am just hoping it's the best game that I have ever played.
