Questions..

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 4:19 pm

Hey there, I'm an avid Skyrim fan, and I cannot wait for it to come out, but I do have so questions that I cannot find online.
If anyone would be able to answer them for me, that would be great :D
1. Is the fast travel system going to be Oblivion Style (fast travel to anywhere from anywhere) or Morrowind Style (Fast travel from city to city, or use mark & recall)
2. Will there be level scaling, as in Oblivion, where everything levels up with you?
3. So, you can use anything you want, and increase your skills in them, so say I put most of my time into to arcane arts, when I level up, will I be able to choose perks for the certain class of my choosing?

1. Not 100% sure on this one, but yeah I think it is like MW, city/village to village. Like carriage rides and such. You can only travel to discovered cities/villages.
2. The level scaling has been changed, it isn't like Oblivion. I think they still use some level scaling if I remember, but there are certain areas or mobs where the levels are set. For instance if you face a Dragon at level 1, it won't be a level 1 dragon. Or a certain zone may be set as a level 20 zone..so going there at level 10, will get you killed.
3. Yes, that is pretty much how it works.

1. You will only be able to fast travel to areas you have already discovered/been to. Oblivion styled. BUT they also have carriages that can take you to places that you haven't been to before - for a small fee.

2. I'm fairly sure every mob has a set level now. But I did read a while back that when you enter a dungeon all of the mobs in the dungeon have their level scaled according to your level and even if you re-visit that dungeon when you are a higher level the level is still the same, so it "locks" it in.

3. You are able to get any perk you want... So I guess the answer to your question is yes?

Edit: Fixed spelling.

Not sure, I think it has both Oblivion and morrowinds fast travel systems.
Itl have some sort of level scaling, but nothing like the disaster Oblivion had.
You can choose whichever perk, but I think that you need to have say, one handed at a certain level for higher lvl perks in one handed? I recall reading about that, but dont take my word for it.

1. I believe I heard it was a mixture of both Oblivion and Morrowind style
2. Partially, the level scaling is only on random spawns you'll encounter. Sometimes you'll encounter level 1s on a high level character, but you cannot encounter massively higher enemies on random spawns (In dungeons they are a set level (higher or lower))
3. As others said, no classes and you can pick whatever perk you want to (assuming you meet the pre-requisites)
