That is why I make mods. I don't want to reload my save game, but I also think it's too cheap making companions essential so they can't be killed. So I made a mod where you give your companion a special item that makes them essential, but if they get "knocked out" they can't get back up again like an essential companion can. They stay down until you cast a special "revive" spell on them. So its more like diablo 2 where you could buy resurrect spells for your fallen friends. It's a lot more balanced and there is a cost. Needless to say I will recreate this mod for Skyrim if they don't have a proper "resurrect" spell.
Using the necromancer stuff is more like bringing them back as a zombie, they are not the same. I think necrophilia is frowned upon, lol.
But who knows, it would add depth to the role playing if I let them die and then grieve and all that stuff, then maybe get remarried. If the NPC's have some depth to them I probably would go this route. Have to wait and see

Either way that is one dead dragon. I'm going to burp his soul out after I eat it, lol. Fus da RAHBuuuuurrrrp!
There's a cool mod idea right there. Be able to use a dragon soul to resurrect your loved ones, so there is a significant cost to raise someone from the dead. So you can use a soul to save a soul.
