gamers are just getting spoiled.
Can we assume that Mom or Dad actually PAYS for yours, then?
Because you have grounds to complain whenever you don't get what you pay for for, or when you don't get what was advertised. Whilst Brink, imho, is more good than bad,
those that disagree have every right to complain. Please read this sentence repeatedly before continuing.
If you paid for a 2-seat convertible and only got one seat, you'd grumble, yes? Would the fact that they can give you your second seat in June, and "hey, it's gonna be free!" actually mollify you? If so, the world is waiting, and it's going to [censored] you up. Lots of teens and 'still live with mom' types here, commenting on matters they know [censored]-all about.
Some of the counter-arguments here make no sense to me.
"Give them some slack, it's hard to make a game" - I don't care how hard or complicated it is to make a game, really - making TVs is complicated too, but if the [censored] thing was broken when you got it out of the box, you'd take it back, wouldn't you?
"They're already working to fix it" - If you ordered an expensive meal and half of it was cold and the other half missing, would you calmly wait for the missing bits to arrive, a fortnight later, and just live with the cold bits, or would you grab a waiter by the balls and kick off?
"Haters gonna hate" - possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read. A "Hater" won't have spent his money on the game. Those who'll complain the loudest aren't haters at all, they are, in fact, folks who are desperate to LOVE the game, but can't shake the feeling they've been seen off.
"Be constrctive" - Agree and personally I try to be, but folks don't
have to complain in a constructive manner as consumers. If you buy milk at a store and it's sour when you get it home despite being within it's sell-by date, you're not obliged to advise the store manager on ways to improve his storage procedures, you may just want the fresh product you PAID for.
I recognise people's right to complain - never forget, they didn't GIVE you this game, they made you BUY it - Brink is a product like any other, and their having happily taken your money gives you ALL of the rights of a consumer. Complaint is one such right, when monies have been exchanged.
I love Brink and play it everyday, but the Campaign was rip-off short, the graphics are a bit shoddy (360), the AI is massively [censored]-up and the lag unforgiveable. So, loving the game or not (and despite my not grumbling as hard as some about things as many have) I never forget that all at SD/Beth probably already drive a nicer car than me, and that I PAID MONEY for Brink. Money I currently earn getting [censored] shot at in Afghanistan. So, be entirely certain, when and if I feel the urge to complain.....I [censored] will, old son. Others have the same right to do so, if they choose.
