One last thing, One problem the devs for some reason cannot adress is the integration of dlc. Almost always they just have a message pop up, and it is usually poorly done and jarring, the only exception to this is probably Knights of the Nine (and even that was pretty heavy handed). Its just that for people playing for the first time with the goty edition, as soon as they start playing they get a ton of pop up messages, and usually the DL content is not a good way to start a new game for the first time, usually due to overpowered loot, which is an issue of its own. They feel obliged in every dlc to introduce some overpowered reward that means you never have to buy another sword again, plus it means that you can just go strait to the good stuff at the beginning. The worst offenders of this is probably the fallout 3 dlc. Non degrading T-51 armor (which took a [censored]load of effort in the original game to get, and even that set degraded). Tesla canon (No comment). Chinese stealth armor (no more having to improve my sneak, Im permanently invisible), Gauss Rifle........... Note that I have just played broken steel and anchorage, and I already have the best armor and weapon and the whole game, that said I also happen to know that The Pitt gives you the best melee weapon in the game as well.
So in short my main worries are:
- Too easy to get vast quantities of gold
- Weapon Degradation (ties in with above)
- Poorly Integrated DLC
- Overpowered DlC loot
What do you guys think?
