Er, what's false? The scaling in TES4 was one of the most universally disliked aspects of the game. I think it's fair to be a bit worried about it when approaching TES5.
And yes, you do make a good point. Perhaps the speedrunners found Umbra (or its new equivalent in Skyrim) and were able to power through the game at a low level using that. That I have no problem with. If that is what happened, I have no worries or complaints. If they killed a high level final boss at level 4 using godly weapons and armor - that's cool. I don't mind. Stuff like that exists for power-gamers to blast through.
However, I do mind the possibility of Alduin (or other serious boss) leveling down to 4 and being killed by a scrubby adventurer in starting armor. If that's what happened, I'm scared that the game won't really hold any challenge and that any remotely serious encounter will be trivialized due to it always scaling down to my level.
I hope you can understand that I am not bashing Skyrim... just voicing my concerns with potential level scaling.
Yeah but you're assuming that you can beat the game at level 4.. they did a speed run..
You don't fight a major boss in Oblivion or Morrowind to beat the game.. I guess I just don't understand the concerns with the speed run.. level scaling isn't what this thread is about so I don't know, I just thought you were concerned they beat it in such a short time at level 4. Which is weird if you know how speed runs work.
