The game becomes BORING with the time...

Post » Fri Oct 14, 2011 6:03 pm

I hope I can make myself understood.

I always have a problem with most RPG games. It′s that the game becomes boring. Because everyone reaches a point where they have so much money, and they are so powerful, that nothing is out of reach. You can kill anyone. You can buy anything. It can be said that you even have more money that the king himself. But we are wondering around. The most you can get is a house. Some furniture. And, of course, a spoon!
Maybe if there was any way to spend the money. For example, the possibility of building a village. Hire workers, warriors, etc. Build expensive defenses (towers, walls, etc) Make wars with other factions, etc... The game will become more interesting when this happens. And the hours of gameplay would increase enormously. What do you think? At least a mod?

Oblivion had tons of mods to fix this, from making gold more scarce to just giving you stuff to spend it on. Hopefully with Skyrim Bethesda will be able to deal with it themselves, though.

Get your Fortress out of my Skyrim.

Seriously, don't knock radiant story until you've tried it. It has the potential to alleviate boredom in a very substantial way.

If it gets boring start a new character and play differently than you did the last.

Two Worlds Two had a feature like this, but it wasn't integrated into the single player. Would be a cool addition.

You can pit people against themselves and dragons which I assume are random encounters scale with you? You can also invest in towns and build capital.

You can start the game an infinity number of times. But in the end, you reach what I′m saying. So, that is not the solution to my dilemma... And, what I′m saying, is how to add cool features to the game. To make it immensely...

You can call a dragon with one of the shouts( supposedly). I suspect this will be the source of many lols. Also you can pit holds against each other, so that seems like something interesting to screw around with. Although the arena is gone, I'm hoping I can watch two holds try to destroy each other from my evil chair of darkness as the guild master of the dark brotherhood.

I assume every merchant either has a buy out price if they like you or you could kill them and buy the property after death. Then spend money on the prices and so forth I also would probably assume wages and who works, if not would make a great mod idea. Heard it on tgn.

Make characters that don't use thievery or raid dungeons (since a more domesticated approach will be available in Skyrim through means of a job), don't hoard everything, or use exploits to make large sums of money. It's very easy to be broke in the game if you play it right.

Otherwise, that's where mods can come in handy.

Or start another character. If your last character was a Breton mage who sided with the rebels play a Nord warrior who serves the Empire.
But yes, there are always mods if you're on PC.
