Water = the go to place to escape dragons?

Post » Fri Oct 14, 2011 5:41 am

Do you think water will be your "safe zone" if you're trying to run from a dragon, rather than fight it?
Maybe dragon's can duck dive, I can just imagine thinking I'm all safe underwater and CRASH this huge dragon dives in and just destroys me.
What do you think?

Dragon AI is advanced, for example they can land as soon as they see you and fight you grounded and then suddenly take off again.

If you are in water the dragon/s will just go airborne and attack with that nasty magic breath.

This will most likely elimintae your chances of survival. You'll be stuck in water which most likely won't let you defend yourself. All the dragon has to do is keep strafing you with a damaging shout and you're stuck either in or under the water. The latter of which will kill you in it's own right.

Run? From a dragon? I guess you could, but I doubt it'll be that easy. The dragon in the demo was WAY faster then Todd, but we also don't really know exactly what kind of speed, and how easy it is to avoid a dragon's attack in a regular fight, much less when running away. Though whirlwind sprint in the demo was only one word of the three. Maybe all three is a decent dash. The time slow would help too I suppose. I wonder if dragon shout cool downs mean like you can't use any dragon shout till the cool down is gone, or you can't use the dragon shout you just used till it is gone.

Probably ranged magic won't work in skyrim, if so, you should be safe from their breath at least.

I suppose it would be, I feel Argonians would have this cheap advantage over them.

but I would really love to see some Sea monster type Dragons. More than anything in all games the scarriest thing is being in Waters with a Huge beast under there that can eat you, due to Limited movement in water and not being able to defend yourself. Even those Orange fish in Mario 64 freaked me out. O.o

Serpents would be bad*ss! Nordic culture is based on Vikings so a serpent would be well suited for this game anyway. Besides, I want to be terrified everywhere I go. Skyrim is like a snowy wastleland. Barren and dangerous. Nobody travels into the mountains to fight fluffy kittens.

Just then, our poor Dovahkiin realizes the tepid waters of Skyrim have a stacking debuff that drains stamina and HP depending on the duration submerged.
