Look at Morrowind in all it's pre-release glory and ask yourself, even if you don't like Morrowind the way it was when it was released and onwards, "Is this better?"
I say yes and I hope the community agrees.

I would quite honestly pay a LOT to get a copy of this.
Quickly, make a petition!!!

I would accept a release with only content that Morrowind doesn't contain so (hopefully) only the proud owners of Morrowind can use it.

This would also benefit modders greatly, with so much original (lore friendly/Morrowind Art style) content.

Why did you post this in the mods forum?

Bethesda lost the source code for Morrowind and I'm assuming they lost the alpha / beta versions as well.

Those aren't in-game screenshots, they're renders to give people an idea of what the game would look like.

Huh? There is a rumor they lost the Daggerfall source when they moved to their new office, but I never heard about them losing the Morrowind source. When did that happen?

Indeed, they are concept art images and rendered in 3DS MAX.

wow, fast replies
A more recent (E3 2005) Oblivion would be nice :whistling:

Edit: I posted this in mods becuase it could be considered a resource, the code of cut features could be added into the Morrowind code patch,
maybe the render height bug can be fixed.
The models, textures, sounds and even possible cut music could be used in future mods.

I can't remember what the original thread was about but someone mentioned the possibility of Bethesda releasing the source code for Morrowind and some dev posted that it wouldn't be possible since they lost the source code.

And besides, even if they had the source code and even if it was the real game and not just a render, I still wouldn't want it. I think the HUD and the menus in those pictures look absolutely, atrociously, horribly bad. I also much prefer the version of Vivec that was released.

The only thing I would want from any of those pictures is working gondola drivers.

Hasn't someone been able to replicate those in Morrowind anyway?

Yep, but mods are never perfect, then again neither are games...

therefore mods = games.

Don't question my logic
