Can you train two skills at once?

If I make a shield on self spell combined with a fortify fatigue spell will it train both my Alteration and Restoration skills at the same time?

My apologies if this has already been posted 5 million times.

No, you will only increase the magic skill your primary effect (which is the first one) is based in.

So if you have a spell that provides a light spell as its first effect (Illusion) and a restore health effect as its second effect (restoration), you will only gain skill in Illusion when you cast the spell. The light effect is the first effect in the list, and that is the effect that determines which school the spell will be based in, and therefore which skill will be increased when you cast it.

Actually, IIRC, it's the spell which requires the most magicka. For example, first a restore health for 5 pts on self and then a fire damage on touch for 100 pts for 10 sec will be a destruction based spell.
