Post » Sat Oct 15, 2011 3:08 am

Hey guys this going to be my first Elder scrolls game on the PC, I played Oblivion on my 360 and loved it, I spend so many hours on the game that it should be censored. I wanted to know if the ATI Radeon HD 5770 would be enough to run this game on the PC, I

It's enough for medium-ish settings, or will likely be. If not higher.

Sweet thanks a lot for the quick response! yea games like shogun 2 total war and starcraft 2, and league of legends I can max out, I recently tried the free open beta on BF3 to test my card it ran the game perfect on Medium and on high 30 fps, so I'm hoping I can run this game smoothly on medium :))) once again thanks :D

I have an ATI HD4850 (512 MB) and I expect that'll run the game fine. I can run Fallout 3 at max settings along with some good texture replacers with great performance.

You'll definitely be able to run Skyrim with a HD 5770.

Of course the graphics card isn't all that matters, you also need a decent CPU and enough RAM.

Your computer, in theory, should be able to run Skyrim on medium settings.

What povuholo said. I've mostly found my cpu bottlenecking my Oblivion/Fallout experience

Indeed the PC far outclasses ps3/360 IMO considering the mods, the improved graphics, the controls (i hate using controllers in an rpg)

You can always shrink your screen resolution without stretching it to fit your monitor if you want higher details and don't mind the sacrifice. I've been playing on a 30 inch widescreen display since 2006, and have at times found it necessary to go below 2560 x 1600 for really intense graphics on some games. Currently with my GTX 460 I am anticipating I will have to shrink down to 1920 x 1200 or so. I sort of like the black bars on the edges for that cinematic feel. It's always an option.

My GeForce 8600 GTS /w 2GB RAM and Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2GHz ran Crysis 2 on low settings with nice average FPS (full resolution!). So any latter graphic cards will handle Skyrim at least on medium settings. I think.

i think it should run the game on like high settings if u disable antialiasing. and have low anisotropic filtering
thats optimisim, but since we don't know the actual requirements we can't be sure

very likely you can run it with some options on high and some on medium.

but it will run.

Considering my 5970 can run BF3 and Crysis 2 with max settings and 1920x1080 resolution you should be able to play with almost max settings at the very least.
